    What skin type do you have?

    Following a few rules will help you determine your skin type in the right and exact manner:

    • it should be done in the daytime, when light is natural and sufficient;
    • your eyes need to be rested, and your head fresh;
    • it is advisable to remove all bright color objects since they can distort color perception. For instance, a face next to red curtains will most likely acquire rosy tone. It's recommended to pin up your hair: dyed hair will not allow you to get an idea of your natural color type (on the contrary, it will confuse you), and your clothes better be of some neutral color;
    • your skin must be clean and without any make-up;
    • skin test area needs to be chosen properly. It's not always easy to do, especially for people with sensitive or couperosed skin. If the former is often red because of irritation, anxiety or temperature drop, the color of the latter is dictated by enlarged capillaries. Problem areas are often localized on the nose and cheeks. Abundant freckles can also make it difficult to find out your skin type. Least affected in terms of color variation is skin of forehead, chin or, as some makeup artists suggest, over the collar bone. So they are the first to be taken into account!

    According to tone they distinguish the following skin types:

    Cool

    This type of skin is dominated by pink color with bluish (not greenish!) veins. Hair is most often black, dark-brown, ash grey or platinum blond. Eye color is most probably blue, grey, green or dark-brown. Best choice for these people would be cool rosy, red, blue, black, pure yellow or other similar colors in clothes. It does not mean that you would look equally well in all of these colors – the fact that your wardrobe is prevailed by a few somber colours is more than sufficient. Tanning: your skin usually looks very red after sun bath, and some time later it acquires copper color.

    If your skin type is cool, you will be fine with mineral foundation of сool, rose or neutral tones.

    Warm

    This type of skin is dominated by goldish or yellow tones with greenish veins. Hair color: mahogany, auburn, warm brown, golden brown, golden blond. Eyes are brown with yellowish streaks, golden green, green with brown streaks, or grey (warm). There are brown, warm green, mint, cream, brick, coral, and rust colors prevailing in your clothes. Black or white apparel makes you less expressive. In the summer this type of skin turns manifest yellow-brown often with olive tint.

    If you belong to warm type, then warm or olive tones of mineral foundation will suit you well.

    According to pigment saturation they distinguish the following skin types:

    Fair

    They call it porcelain or ivory. Freckles may be present. There is almost no pigment in the skin, whereas showing capillaries will determine its rosy tone. As a rule, they are light-skinned or red-haired people that are easily burnt under the sun, and tan never sticks to them.

    If this type is yours, then fair foundations will fit you great.

    Light

    This type of skin can get a light tan, but often sunburnt. There is still too little pigment in the skin. Light foundations are good for you!

    Medium

    Most people have it. If you cannot determine which type your skin is (light or dark), then, most likely, you belong to medium. This type of skin accomodates sun-tan well and it almost never gets sun burnt.

    Medium foundations are recommended for you.

    Tan

    These people have a great deal of pigment in their skin, and they never sunburn. Europeans possess this type of skin rarer than, for instance, Hindu. If you belong to this group, tan foundations are your choice.

    So, in order to pick up foundation color that will suit you nicely:

    1) Find out your skin tone, i.e. what pigment dominates it. Then you will be able to choose the tone of foundation: warm, rose, neutral or olive.

    2) Establish intensity of pigment in your skin: fair, light, medium or tan.

    Please note that:

    • mineral foundations of different tones easily mix to give the right tone. You can also apply successively a few layers of various tones right to your skin. Feel free to experiment: try to mix same tones first in a jar, then on your skin, and compare. The best tone is the one invisible on your skin!
    • mineral cosmetics takes 30 to 90 minutes after application to "settle" on your skin: this time is enough for it to mix with skin fat and moisturiser. Only after that you can finally make up your mind if the tone you choose is right.
    • light tones of mineral foundation can be used as a highlighter to highlight area around eyes, whereas dark tones as a bronzer or to darken areas under cheekbones or chin.

    We wish you to perfect your beauty in a creative and successful manner!
