Fiat Punto 3 Grande, 350A1000 1.4L engine – a 5-door hatchback

In 2005 the Italian company Fiat introduced the third generation of Fiat Punto called Grande. Fiat Punto 3 is a compact passenger car which, however, turned out to be larger than all the previous versions of Fiat Punto. Fiat Grande Punto, just like Opel Corsa, was built on the platform developed jointly with the American concern General Motors.

The appearance of Fiat Punto 3 was largely dictated by the increased requirements for passive safety. Therefore, the location of the headlights, the shape of the front bumper and hood of Fiat Grande Punto are optimized to improve pedestrian protection. Fiat Punto 3 was equipped with a start-stop system that turned off the engine even when the car stopped for a short time, which saved fuel and reduced harmful emissions.

In addition to three- and five-door hatchbacks, Fiat Punto Grande was offered in the form of a van. There were no rear side windows, and a one cubic meter cargo compartment was offered behind the front seats.

In 2009 there was a new update of the Fiat Punto line and the car was renamed again – now to Fiat Punto Evo.
