Renault Logan 1 is a small vehicle intended for people with modest income. It was designed by Renault specifically to meet the demands of emerging markets. The main industrial capacities for Renault Logan 1 were deployed in Romania at the factory of Dacia – a Romanian car manufacturer which was absorbed by the Renault Group in 1999.

In Russia the first generation of Renault Logan was produced from 2005 till 2015 at the Avtoframos plant in Moscow. In 2014 AvtoVAZ started making the second generation of Renault Logan at its plant in Tolyatti, Russia.
